MICo s.r.o. is a Czech engineering company supplying equipment for nuclear and conventional energy, heating and waste incineration, the chemical industry and petrochemicals. MICo's main products are steel tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, special weldments and other custom-made products. MICo has two production plants and its own design teams providing technical solutions ranging from calculations according to customer requirements to production documentation. MICo is a member of the Czech industrial group CE Industries and its developing energy division.

MICo is part of the energy division of the industrial holding company CE Industries.

Energy Division

CE Industries is establishing an energy engineering division capable of carrying out complex projects for the engineering and energy market. The division currently comprises four separate engineering companies.

CE Industries is an industrial holding company operating in European markets in freight rail transport, raw material recycling, energy and other sectors. CEI comprises 34 subsidiaries, more than 3,000 employees and a turnover of CZK 26 billion.

History of MICo

Establishment

The company was founded in 1993 as a service provider operating at the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant. In 1998, it launched its own production at the Hrotovice site, and in 2011, it expanded to the Kramolín site.

Development

The MICo production programme met the needs of the Czech nuclear and conventional energy sectors. The company has been successful as a supplier for foreign nuclear facilities and has created several divisions grouped under the MICo group.

Background

Due to excessive investments, loss-making projects, high material price increases, complications in fulfilling orders during the COVID-19 pandemic, and other factors, the company went to insolvency in 2022.

Transformation

In a crisis situation, MICo was saved by the industrial holding company CE Industries, owned by Czech entrepreneur Jaroslav Strnad. Under the agreement, the new owner continued production at both plants in Hrotovice and Kramolín.

The present

The stabilisation of the company and investment in development enabled MICo to quickly regain its position as a leading supplier for nuclear and conventional energy and other industries. Currently, MICo's production capacity is fully utilised.

The future

MICo's vision is to be an excellent partner to global energy leaders. The company has ambitions to participate in the renaissance of nuclear energy in Europe, including the completion of the Dukovany nuclear power plant – his former alma mater.
